Hand pipes, a traditional method used for smoking tobacco, are small, portable and conveniently easy to travel with and be able to smoke your favorite smoke while you are on the go. The different types are spoons, chillums, sherlocks, steamrollers, blunts, gandalfs, concentrates, and bubblers. Hand pipes are crafted out of a wide variety of different materials such as glass, wood, metal, acrylic and even silicone.
- Glass Hand Pipes
Many people choose glass pipes for their smoking needs to satisfy their long-term smoking needs. One reason people choose glass spoon pipes over metal or wood pipes is for the longevity of use. Papers obviously have the least longevity, as they are burnt with tobacco and expel chemicals during the burn. Wood pipes may break down over time and eventually need to be replaced. Metal pipes will heat up during use, making them sometimes hard to handle. However, glass pipes will not wear down with use and do not expel harmful chemicals for you to inhale.
- Wooden Tobacco Pipes
Finding the right pipe is a task in itself, with so many shapes, sizes, and colors to choose from. More importantly, finding the perfect smoking accessory starts with choosing the type of material from which it is manufactured. Wooden pipes offer many benefits not found in other types of pipes. Wooden pipes are known to hold heat better, eliminating the necessity of continuous lighting. Additionally, wooden pipes are handcrafted so the concern of shattering that comes with glass pipes is eliminated.
- Metal Hand Pipes
Metal hand pipes are not as common as they once were. Originally, metal hand pipes were often made of lamp parts or other scrap metal that could be easily shaped into a pipe. The disadvantage to metal hand pipes is that often, the metal would heat up, making it hard to use for more than just a short time. Now, metal hand pipes are made from a variety of different metals and customized with various designs.
- Silicone Pipes
Silicone pipes are one of the newest trends to hit the market. They are popular because they are versatile and not as likely to break. Silicone pipes are made out of medical grade silicone which provides a safe, reliable alternative to glass, metal or wood. Silicone hand pipes typically come with either a stainless steel or quartz bowl, making it safe to hold lit tobacco.
